Psychotherapy that leads to lasting change.
Schema Therapy is an integrative form of psychotherapy developed by Dr. Jeffrey Young. It combines elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychoanalytic object relations theory, attachment theory, and Gestalt therapy. The goal is to help individuals identify and change deeply rooted patterns known as 'schemas' or 'early maladaptive schemas'.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a modern form of cognitive-behavioral therapy developed by Steven C. Hayes. Rather than eliminating distressing thoughts, ACT encourages acceptance of what is out of personal control and commitment to actions aligned with personal values.
Guided by 20 years of experience working with a wide-variety of presenting issues, Dr. Nagel utilizes multiple evidence-based therapies depending upon client need.
